Dance Programs

Studies show that students involved in after-school activities have higher achievement and attendance rates. Dance is known to be an outstanding form of self expression that allows for students to develop their technique, artistry, and creativity and learn the skills of self-discipline, teamwork, and confidence.

Our dance program offers classical, social/ballroom & cultural dance styles. Each of these, help instill a variety of skills and values that will make an impact in our students. (Read more about it below).

In addition, students are less likely to be depressed or burned out. Our after school dance program also provides supervised fun that is free from technology and allows socialization and human interaction.

Classical
Mersy G. Dance brings traditional dance styles to your school, leveraging the creative art of dance to promote self-awareness, empathy and creative confidence. Our professional dance educators are skilled in a variety of dance forms with our most popular programs spanning Hip Hop, Ballet, Jazz and Creative Movement. With this program students will be on their way to creating a strong dance foundation.
Cultural
Mersy G. Dance Cultural Dance programs integrate history and cross-cultural exploration with dance and movement. Through Latin Cultural Dance, Afro and Afro-Latin Fusion Programs. Students learn about the origins and cultural-history of each dance style. Along the way, students will also study prominent figures who’ve made significant contributions to dance and arts culture, while exploring how cultures have influenced trends in art and music we see in society today. In each lesson, students will build social and empathy skills, as they build appreciation and respect for new cultures.
Social/ Ballroom
Social/ Ballroom dancing is one of the most effective ways to cultivate social- awareness. Children are able to build the foundation to become true ladies and gentlemen who exercise consideration, sensitivity, honesty, trust, responsibility, loyalty, compromise and respect for others. Social/ Ballroom teaches students to connect to another individual and learn the true meaning of teamwork. We teach a variety of partner styles such as; Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Waltz, Foxtrot & Swing.
